timing belt issue

hello guys I have an 04 svt and rebuilt it a while back im not having any problems with it I was just wondering if my timing belt position is normal its all the way towards the side of the cams here is the picture help!!? its kinda hanging off the gear a bit like 1/16-1/8 of an inch

bluebronco it has been like this ever since I bought the kit and installed it its a gates kit I was maybe thinking I have my belt guide on wrong

Probably too much tension at install, people continually have issue with how light the tension is needed on these motors. More=belt walk off pulley end. New pulleys have concave surfaces, the center is lower than the outside edges, when tension is too high belt edgerides to the high on pulley end.

No real 'guides' to speak of, only the crank pulley, the edgeriding will fray inside of belt on edge to break/shred belt way early. I'd be looking into that, SVTs bend valves when the belt breaks. You may already know that.........

yes i know its a interfearance motor and i put the stock about of tention on it lining the little tools up on the tensioner

Is it possible the crank pulley did not slide all the way back on or is loose? Is it the original pulley? Original crank? Key get wedged during install? Could something have changed how these two fit together? If the crank pulley is the only method used for guiding the belt, I would inspect it's alignment / position very carefully.
