Replacing the valve cover gasket

I am just curious, is changing the valve cover gasket and easy DIY job on these cars? It was on my old Contour Zetec, but I just want to make sure the VCT system does not block the way on these cars.

I don't think you'll have a problem it's just a inline 4 cylinder and the plastic intake manifold isn't in the way. How many miles do you have on it? Are you leaking already or just wanted to change it?

Why not download the service manual and look at the procedure? Then you can judge your abilities and decide if it is something you want to do.

I have just over 40,000 miles. I just wanted to know for future reference since it seems to be a common problem.

I know that plenty of people around here have downloaded the manual, but I personally do not feel comfortable downloading something from a torrent site. I guess I am just too stubborn and paranoid, ugh

Personally I would just look it up when you have to actually replace it. Call me superstitious but don't look up the procedure to fix something that isn't broken.........yet
