6006 replacement

I have a 2002 focus ghia and surprise surprise the 6006 head unit has stopped working. I am looking at changing it but am unsure about the connections. I have the steering column controls and want to keep these working, doing some research I see I can buy an iso cable adapter (pc99-x07). What I would like to know is has anyone used this adapter and will it work with the 6006 wiring config?

don't know on that specific adapter, but you do need to make sure that if you do an aftermarket headunit that you get one that has a "wired remote" input to accept steering wheel controls. you do need the compatible headunit as well as an adapter to transfer and translate the control signal to what the headunit can read.
