'08 SE Front Strut Replacement - Help Please

Can anyone post a link to the steps necessary to replace the front struts on a 2008 Focus SE? I am debating weather I want to tackle doing my daughters car myself when the weather warms up.

Thanks in advance.

Heres a link to the basics......all cars are much the same but I'd invest in a decent manual for torque specs etc and of course you will also need some spring compressors. Easy job if you have the right tools.

Not sure why you want struts replaced but this may be of help also:

if you're sticking with OEM, call around for prices on a Monroe QuickStrut. It's a complete replacement that basically reduces your install job to that of a shock absorber (I'm exaggerating a bit) and doesn't cost much more than just a strut + bearing. The national auto parts stores often run discounts/rebates of 15-20% off the price of suspension equipment, esp. if you do their email signup. I think Pepboys has a 20% discount that expires today and brings the price down to around $300/pair.

Might also make sense to replace the rear shocks at this time for a balanced ride.

I am looking at the struts because the '08 has 77,000+ miles, all city (potholes) driving and has a rattle in the right front when driving on rough roads.

Also I was looking to see if the change can be done without using spring compressors.

Thanks.

That rattle your hearing could be from a sway bar endlink broken .

that's why I recommended the QuickStruts.

Like the previous poster suggested, replacing the endlinks first might save you from needlessly replacing the struts, which are alot more time, effort, and $.

I may be experiencing the same problem except my rattle seemingly comes from the rear. I have yet to have anyone figure out the problem.
