Question Focus Rear Control Arms

Hi All,

So, I have a 2002 SVT Focus..... currently have Koni Coilover set on it that I'm changing over to Koni Yellows.

I'm wondering, becuase the coilover set CAME with an adjustable spring seat.... on the bottom..... does the control arm have built in spring seats or is there something I will need to buy to mount the spring on the bottom?

Also, what about up top? Is there an OEM Spring seat to be purchased or is it all part of the car already? I'm going to be using H&R springs. Thanks for your help!

With springs that have OEM dimensions, they fit in the control arm as is, and require an isolator that goes on the top between the spring and the subframe.

Awesome! okay.... so the Koni springs that I have on right now would most likely be using this isolator correct? and just have an aftermarket spring-seat on the bottom (the height adjustable portion)

I guess thats dependant on the koni setup I have, I'll have to check it out... thanks! :)

Why are you swapping out your Koni coilover's for a fixed platform for?

Long story short....

I love the koni coilovers! They were awesome... but my rear shock blew out. Contacted Koni for warranty, sent them in with RMA number. This was in May 2012.... they looked all over USA, all over Europe... not to be found! THey don't make that shock anymore apparently.

They offered me a deal.... I sent them the ENTIRE Koni coilover set back, they re-imburse me my FULL money back (Paid $1022 for them like 4-5yrs ago). Told them, I need suspension on my car obviously so they offered me Koni yellows at cost price, front struts and rear shocks. They're dampening adjustable so I'm happy about that!

Picked up some H&R springs and I got it all together now! Just gotta change out the rear springs, send it in and get my money back! In total, I will have gotten $500 back from the whole deal and I'm VERY happy with the stiffness of the yellows :) They almost feel a bit stiffer than the coilover set was!! Gotta turn that shizz down....

Apparantly not? I asked if they could just rebuild the rear shocks and they were persistent on doing the refund. I think they didn't want to?
