I hope it stays manual only, it gives it a certain exclusivity and credibility like the SVT and MS3 have.

Like others said, teach her to drive stick. I taught my wife on the SVT, she picked it up just as quick as I did.

I sure hope they douche it up, then I will buy one. I don't want an auto, but a 6 speed DCT/DSG.

First, you guys are killing me. The ST is a souped up version of Fords best selling grocery getter, it ain't no GT40. And what do you think a flappy-paddle gearbox is? Could it be a DCT/DSG?

They will put an auto in the ST at the same time they make a 4 door Mustang Shelby. :-D ;-)

What part of supped up grocery getter do you guys not get. The freaking Focus does not have any heritage close to a Shelby Mustang. It's heritage is a grocery getter. As soon as Ford works it out, they will offer the ST with a DCT/DSG option. They are missing greater than 50%, probably 60+%, of potential sales not have the "automatic" option, and they are working to fix that. Ford does not have the purist thoughts you guys do, Ford has thoughts of how to sale cars.

PS: If it was the purist car you guys see it as why is it only offered in 4 or 5 doors? Because it is a grocery getter. I will admit, it is the funnest grocery getter I have had the pleasure of driving, but it is still a grocery getter.

What part do you not get, svt mustang 6 speed only, svt focus 6 speed only. Ford knows what it's fans want out of it's performance divison.

If you want your automatic sporty car I hear the GM is avaliable.

I want an auto that will handle the 600+ hp I throw at it.

Upgrade the clutches and that DCT should be good on the ST.

Well with the history of ford auto transmissions. They have yet to really figure out how to make one properly. Yea I know you have the only svt on the planet with a auto but yours is understandable.

How many doors were on that SVT Focus, and what year was that? It is now 2013 and most modern high performance cars have computer automated 6+ speed manual transmissions as an option, and Ford is working on one for the ST. Oh yea, and Ford really doesn't care what its fans want, Ford just wants to sale cars and make a profit, and if they can make you feel that way...well that is a bonus.
