Cylinder Head ID

Ladies and germs: I want to pick up a 2.3L duratech head tomorrow from a local salvage yard but I'm a little hesitant. Are there any identifying marks or casting impressions that separate the 2.3 from the 2.0 head? I was unable to find any references in our faq section other than lobe durations and cam port diameters.

Anything I should be looking for?

IIRC there should be 2.3 printed on the side of the head.

Thank you! I think part of the problem is that all of the different pics by users are from back in 2006 or earlier and I keep getting 404's trying to see them.

I will look for the 2.3 when I head out on Monday. Its on the outside right? :)

Correct.

Also double check that its coming out of a Focus, as every other 2.3l has VCT on the intake cam.

The head on the Ranger 2.3 is the same as the 2.0 Focus head BTW. So if you dont see a ID mark but "it came off a 2.3!" be careful
