2012 titanium 5 door (handling pkg) w/ST fuel economy???

Titanium:

2013 Ford Focus FWD 4 cyl, 2.0 L, Automatic (S6), Regular Gasoline
27
City
31
Combined
38
Highway

ST: city 23 , combined 26, highway 32

My observed mpg is closer to the ST. I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN OVER 26 combined.

Are there any mechanical components which could be contributing to the poor rating?

Mine's averaging about 28. Before the temperatures dropped, I was seeing ~32, and for a month between buying it and the switch to winter gas it was doing 36-38, and wasn't even broken-in yet.

Wait it out until March/April, when we go off winter gas, and much warmer temps, and we'll see better MPGs.

I have te exact same setup. I've never gotten over 30.5 mpg and I drive 10% city, 90% highway never over posted speed limits.

My 'Winter gas' average with 80% city driving is still 32.5mpg.
I get to cheat on warm-up though as i have heated indoor parking. So my start temp is around 68F even when it is minus 5F outside.
Cold start really sucks up the gas.
So does sitting at stoplights.

When it's warmer I rarely get under 30-34. In the winter now, I'm getting 29-30. Most of my driving is city or rural roads and some highway. I think it's all in how you drive. I use the leafs to tell me how I'm driving though. Try to keep them full all the time. A lot goes into gas mileage though, check things out.

Same here my se was starting to drop in mileage just before I got my titanium I blame it on the cold and winter gas. Been avg.33 highway hope it gets closer to what my se had in the summer avg.42

I'm in San Diego. So the temps are usually consistent and rarely too cold.

You have 18x8s they're heavy and sticky.

Yeah but the cars with 16s 17s and 18s all have the same MPG rating on the window sticker I do Belive that the 18s will make the Mpg less but not by 5mpg there has to be other factors like winter gas and longer warm-up times.

How many miles on your car? We are now averaging 31mpg with our Ti after 4500 miles on it, before it was in the mid 20's at best (that was with me driving it as DD, the wife apparently has a lighter right foot) and she commutes 40 miles daily which helps over city driving. The best I've ever got with it was 34mpg on a road trip to Vegas.
