I'm gonna have to read up on the remote start settings. I ran mine the other day when I got downstairs got my coffee and went out, front defroster was on, I thought that was the default and only setting.. But if there are settings I will look into this.

I shattered a windshield on an old Dodge Neon when I went out to my car after work on a super hot day, The place where I worked had a car rinse because the parking lot was dusty, anyway I went straight under it without cooling off the car with my A/C and BOOM a loud snap and I then had about 5 or 6 full cracks across the whole windshield without even having any chips or anything. BE CAREFUL! Even glass moves in temperature changes thusly will break when a quick temp change it introduced...

If its really cold below 20f, I'll wait a few mins then go.
Yes, I am dead serious. Have you never heard of thermal shock before? As others stated its especially true if the windshield already has a crack or chip in the surface. Any quick temperature change can cause the glass to crack.

^^ I can totally understand it spreading..being there is already a fracture in the glass. I'm not sure who would start a car and not heat the cabin of the car...would seem pretty pointless. :)
