A stroker kit to make these a 2.5 liter would be ideal. All of the parts can be sourced from the Ford and Mazda parts bins (since they both use the 2.5 Duratec) except for the pistons which would have to be custom for use with direct injection.
Imagine this engine with some serious torque. 200whp and 200wtq would be easy even with no tuning.

The 2.5L is a bigger block. I believe Tom, and possibly others are working on this conversion. 2.5 is to big for the 2.0/2.3 block, and the 2.5 is not a straight drop in. It will take some time to engineer a kit.
