Can't you just extend the hose with another piece of hose like a splice? I like the red and want to keep it.

You can modify the hose to work in the new wing with the original lamp however the original lamp won't spray the rear window properly as the nozzle on the stock lamp is closer to the edge of the lamp than it is on the ST lamp.

So when you spray the rear window it sprays past the wiper and then the wiper does not turn on until you've sufficiently wet the glass, where as it used to turn on right away.

Perhaps the red lamp from the base ST or the black pack with the 3d carbon wing would have the nozzle also moved to compensate for the longer wing.

The stock lamp physically works with the spoiler, and it only matters if you want the washer to work properly and spray the glass rather than the bumper cover.

Does the rear wiper use a spray sensor? That seems pricey vs just it coming on when you activate the sprayer.

Yeah, was unaware of this if it does! Especially since it doesn't come on by itself when it's raining - so I never thought it would have any kind of sensor for it.

EDIT: Just bought the ST light from Tousley.

I'm not sure if it has a sensor to tell or not, however it used to turn on right away as soon as I'd activated the spray on the rear window, however with the new wing and the stock lamp it sprays for a long period of time before it starts to actually activate the rear wiper. This seems to me to indicate that if the fluid isn't actually hitting the glass the wiper doesn't seem to turn on.

I'll have to experiment... if only it were warmer outside!

I doubt it has a sensor and I'm hoping a few others that have added the wing will chime is with a similar experience or not. I'm hoping not.

If I briefly pushed the stalk forward to engage the spray for the rear wiper after this past saturday when I had the wing put on the car it sprayed a stream of fluid but did not engage the wiper if I immediately let go following the stream of fluid. If I held it longer eventually the wiper engaged, so I'm not sure if that was due to the weather or not, but its hard to ignore the fact that the nozzle is in a different orientation now than when it was with the original wing.

If you actually look at the ST rear spoiler it is physically longer than the standard mk3 spoiler, therefore the same nozzle orientation that works properly in one configuration will not work properly in another configuration.

There were at least two people with this issue in this very discussion, the O.P. with the 3D carbon wing and the stock third brake lamp was complaining about the wiper/ washer no longer working properly in pretty much the same manner. Misfire had also installed the clear ST lamp and seems to be happy with it.

There may be a non clear version with the corrected nozzle angle/ location which would should be part 8A6Z-13A613-B if you're looking to maintain the red appearance.

The clear part is available under service part number 8A6Z-13A613-C.

The stock part is 8A6Z-13A613-A at least as far as I can tell.
