Slot in glove box

Need a little help. Putting some stuff in my focus from the old car, and noticed a slot the size a credit card would fit down into right above the pen clip. Anyone have any idea of what in the world that is for? Thanks!

Registration maybe?

I think that is where I store mine, fits perfectly.

Not sure if it was meant for something else.

I keep my registration in my wallet. I don't understand why some people leave them in the glove box

Because people forget their wallet sometimes? It's happened to just about everyone at one time or another, I'd imagine. Better safe than sorry.

If you forget your wallet you forget you don't have your drivers license on you anyway, but sure it happens.
IMO better safe than sorry is keeping your registration on you

I've rarely heard of somebody keeping it in their wallet, most people keep it in their glovebox. I've never had an incident where I needed my registration away from my car so if it's in my wallet it's taking up space.

You forget that some people drive with their license in their cars as well. I personally keep my license in my wallet, but not everyone is like that. I know some people who don't even carry a wallet.

But... that said... registration always made more sense to me being in the car. No need to have my registration anywhere else.
