New timing belt, now not as smooth.

We have a new (to us) '03 ZX5 in the family fleet, which came to us via my mother retiring it from her fleet :) . My 18yr old is driving it now. We put a new coilpack in it and new wires after we got it but one thing bugs me. Prior to 2011, I did most of the maintenance on this car for my mother but we moved in the summer of '11 and she fell back on the Ford place to do it. While having valve cover gasket replaced, she had them go ahead with the timing belt replacement. Ever since, the engine has not been as smooth...it runs well enough, just not the silky smooth it was before. The mileage is great and the car is a model of reliability as expected, would just like for it to be as it was before. As always, any input is greatly appreciated. :)

You have to remove the passenger motor mount to do the timing belt.


I'm thinking it wasn't bolted down in the same spot in the engine compartment.

This could put a side load on the mount, and it transmits more vibration into the body.
