why not run smaller than a .70? its been proven time and again that the .55ar works very will on the 200 series. it doesnt peak as high but spools a couple thousand rpm faster. that dyno i posted was a built 2.5l with a .55ar s256. if it can maintain power that good on an engine like that then it will have no problem maintaining it better on the zetec

i'll find the dyno graphs im talking about. both have been tried on the sti and the .55 vs .70 housing makes a huge difference in spool. you can tell in the dyno that i posted that it does choke down the sti up top having the .55 on a 2.5l. but the turbo will max out at around 550whp and he is only shooting for 450whp and fastest spool possible. that is why i think he will be more happy with the .55 vs the .70. if he wanted the most power possible out of the turbo and race gas then hell yeah i would say get the .70

Yea these are just my suggestions on my point of view. Either one will work fine. Personally idc which he goes with cause its not my car. But like everything else 450 gets boring and will want more.

It's true. 450 became boring in my car. My buddy notch went 9.2@155 made 765whp and he didn't think it was fast anymore. It happens to everyone no matter the power level

Tim is right. A .55 will work just fine. And on a my precision 6266 setup going from a .82 to a .63 made almost a 1000rpm difference.
Also there's a cobalt that lives by me makin 620whp on a .55 and he loves it bc of how fast the turbo spool(yes I know his turbo vs manic turbo were a little difference in size). Plus if for some reason the .55 is choking on top end he can also switch out housings. |

I need BOOOOST!!!!!!

i would prefer the .55 for right now. for the time being i am LIMITED by my clutch. i cannot go any further than about 450whp/tq. so for that reason i want a turbo that will spool as fast as possible to that power level with maybe a little room to grow over that. its going to be at least 2 years before i make a decision to go any further than 450whp. that is roughly how long it will take me to burn through the clutch. at that point if i want more power i will buy a twin disk and i will upgrade the turbo but who is to say that i will even WANT more? maybe i will maybe i wont. the point is that for right now all i want is quick spool to 450hp.
so jim can you get the 200sx-56 in a .55ar? i dont mind if it starts to fall off around 6500-7000rpm. i dont plan on revving the nuts off my car anyway. i dont have the oil pump for it. if the .70ar is the only one you can get then i will be perfectly content with it especially at the price that you quoted me at. im ready to put money on one any time, just waiting to find out who to send money to and to double check that the turbo fits the bill and that tim can use it on the kit he's building.
