Thinking about getting my Focus Painted

I've had my focus for a little over a year now and I swear Ford got a really good deal on Ingot Silver Metallic paint. Just about every focus I see is Silver. So I've been thinking about getting it repainted professionally. Its between burnt orange metallic with black stripes, or Torino red with a white stripe.

HB or Sedan?
HB will look good on orange metallic, try to take some pictures and do some photoshop first, so you got the idea of what it will look before you take it into the body shop....

Hatchback. I'll probably throw some black rims on it too.

I've been quoted around $2500 to paint it. That includes a little bit of body work that it needs.

A good proper paint job that won't look like a respray job and with a custom color and stripes will run anywhere from $3-5000 on up. This means painting the door jambs and areas around the hatch since if you don't do it right your resale value just goes out the window on what is still a newer car. Don't end up with a ghetto job from Maaco that'll last a couple of years and then turn to crap. I work at a paint/collision repair shop part time and have a few friends that do this for a living and we see crap work all the time.

BTW, silver is the #1 color car across almost all brands as most of the grey scale is then usually followed by whites. It's not a Ford thing.

That's a cheaper and smarter idea and you protect the original paint.
