Thumbs up Focus named "most fun" compact car, Focus ST named "most fun" sports car by consumer reports

Can't argue with that!

The Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ, BMW 135i, Tesla Model S, and Ford Focus ST all have one thing in common: They were among Consumer Reports "Most Fun" cars in 2014.

...

The Ford Focus was listed in two categories in the Consumer Reports "Most Fun" cars to drive in 2014

Interesting...

I mean, you can't argue with it from our perspective, though you have to wonder the subset of cars they were testing. Did it encompass a greater number or was it just those listed? More than 2/3 of them are "fun" while the ones not fun are predictably going to be.

IMO there are a few that should have been on the 'fun' list and weren't listed...

In the compact / subcompact category the Focus and Golf were most fun and the Nissan Versa, Scion iQ and Smart For Two were least fun.

Consumer reports has their heads up their butts or at least I read that when this forum disagrees with them. Same goes for every other car/truck forum I've been a member of. They're great when they prop your car up but when they don't all hell breaks loose. lol

So true, though to be fair to us, the Focus ST is almost universally adored.

Of the few on the "least fun" list, the only two that actually deserve it are the Smart ForTwo and the Nissan Versa. Those are NOT fun cars. I haven't driven a Z4, Camaro, or 370Z, but I can't imagine that most people would be driving around all grumpy with a frowny face thinking about mow much they hate the car.

And if I'm driving a 750li, fun is not my first priority...

I don't adore the ST...

I would take an FR-S for the same money over an ST any day of the week after driving both.

Lol you're not the only one I know, including my fiancee.

Review blogs, magazines, Top Gear, etc., all are enamored with it. I would love to have one but would probably get frustrated with it as a daily driver. Those I know who do have ST's do say that it can be a little tedious as a dd, especially the city mpg and poor winter traction.

I would not take an FR-S over an ST, but I also have a crown victoria in need of some work when I wanted to go sideways.

Having sat in the FR-S or BR-Z I didn't feel that it would be a better choice for me personally. However that being said I'd have to drive one to rule it out.

If I had the money I might like to have one as a toy although there are a lot more cars I would also like.

Car and Driver just finished up their long term test of the BRZ. They had a lot of not so nice things to say about it. Primarily the noise. Quite a few quality problems too.

The FR-S and BRZ are missing something from the back end, they just both don't look right, car would look a lot better and performance oriented with a wider set of tires on the rear.

Whenever I'm behind one, it looks like it's riding on freight car wheels.
