What should I do?
So here it is I own a 1998 Ford Escort ZX2 that I've had for about 8 years now. 2 years ago the head went out and I parked the car and tore it apart.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Once I pulled the head off I decided to find a new or rebuilt cylinder head for it. And that's when I found the deal of a lifetime, and it seemed foolish to just pass up. ![]() It was a brand new Focus SVT cylinder head that I picked up for a cool 400 bucks! Right then and there I decided to start building the rest of the motor, and the car turned into a project. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Long story short I've spent a lot of money on a high compression engine build. And 2 weeks ago I bought a 2002 Focus SVT, which I am really happy with. But now I'm wondering what I should do; Should I finish my project? Or should I drop that bad boy in the SVT? |

If the SVT is running right and reliable, finish the project and enjoy an SVT DD and an even more fun project car. When you no longer have to worry about reliability, the posibilities are endless.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm starting to think its not very wise of me to put all of my eggs in one basket. The ZX2 is very close to being finished anyways, and the SVT is a phenomenal car. I would hate to throw money at it and have something catastrophic happen to it.

i agree to keep them both. plus a zx2 with a good motor in it (among other parts) can be a really fun car!

The ZX2 was fun as hell when it was still running, and its the reason I decided to buy the Focus. The thing is solid I spent quite a bit of money on the suspension. Right now all it needs to be back on the road is; a differential (not cheap), a few syncros, and stronger axles. Then the rest is all engine management, and some misc stuff to get it to run. I had plenty of cash to finish it, and then I traded my truck in and sacrificed the money I had to buy the Focus lol.

that's the good thing about your project not being your dd. you aren't rushed to get it done since you have something else to drive. just take your time and don't make yourself go broke trying to finish it.
however, if you happened to get it done by july, we would love to see it at FocusFest!
