MK3 owners with 40k+ & No Problems?

I got mine at 38k pre-owned, it now has 44k; only thing I've done is a DCT software update and replaced front brakes. Did extensive background check on my car and there is no record of any mechanical or warranty issues on record. Got a little paranoid because of the number of complaints but so far I have not experienced any issues other than having to adapt to driving a DCT which I have done with good results. Never drove one before and yes it does not behave like a traditional auto; but that's because it's not a traditional auto.
Just wondering if there are any others who have long term i.e. over 40k miles with no issues other than a computer update.

I won't say NO issues, but only a few. I did have my gearbox software updated, and before that the clutches would slip a lot. I also had the bad steering rack from the factory, which was replaced under warranty, and the drivers side power mirror has failed 3 times.

Since the gearbox update, there have been a few issues, however most deal with the electronic throttle, and in my opinion are not related to the gearbox itself. I have experienced a few electrical issues as well (outside of the power mirror failing), the most annoying being the radio backlight does not come on when the car is started, but rather a few minutes later.

In short, I've been pretty happy with my car, and my DCT has performed well enough. The issues I have with it are either related to the throttle not being as responsive as I like, or Ford programming it to behave too much like an automatic. Ford's ridiculous programming has turned what could be a great performance oriented gearbox into the "worst of both worlds", the manual shifts are super slow, it doesn't shift at sensible RPMs in drive or sport, and the throttle programming neuters everything from there.

But all that being said, not everyone on the forums has a bad one. It's just that some folks seem to be screaming at the top of their lungs about their issues, and those without them don't bother talking as they wouldn't be heard anyways.

I have over 80,000 miles on mine. Tie rod end needed replacing and alignment done then also. Engine inexplicably lost power one time, but was fine after restart. Other than that, the horn went dead for a while and the dash illumination will no longer adjust.
Love the manual transmission, although it needs one more gear to drop the revs a little on highway runs. Best small car to drive.

35,600 miles - almost 2yrs old.

No issues.

Oil changes every 5-6K miles, had one rattle in passenger side door fixed.

completely agree on it should have the 6th gear. 100km at 2600 rpm is to high for me

I've got 45k on mine and don't have any true "issues" my dampeners are gone because of 20k miles on sportlines. Sometimes my DCT grinds(I don't care)

Other than that it's flawless. Drives wonderfully, fast in high rpms, exhaust and intake sound amazing, interior is beautiful too.

I won't get rid of it until it dies, that's for sure.

41k on mine, no issues with dct or anything else major. My radio/next track selector rocker switch on the steering wheel died, bought a new one and haven't installed it yet. Car has been pretty bullet proof so far..
