Rear shocks interchangeable between sedan, hatchback, and wagon?

Does anyone know? I was going to grab fairly new struts and shocks off a 4 door focus for my wagon. I know the fronts will works, but are the backs different?

The Wagon is the one that has a different rear suspension setup

The rest are interchangeable within certain model years.

What mac said. "except wagon" is the order of the day when buying suspension bits, unfortunately.

Hrmm, fair enough.

I'll grab the new front struts off the sedan, they still have the ford tags on them.

However, there's a couple of late model focus wagons there, (05+) would the rear shocks be the same on my 03 wagon?

Should be the same. Someone will have to verify that, but as far as I know, the wagon suspension went unchanged.

Rear shocks are shorter & layed down (on the wgns) vs the long verticle ones on zx3/zx4/zx5's. Everthing else is the same.

Yes, thanks. He's asking if an 05 suspension will fit his 03. AFAIK, the wagons went unchanged between model years.

Hrmm, I checked online and couple places are listing the wagon shock the same as the other models. Which ain't right for anyone that checks ebay - Monroe definitely lists two different part numbers between the wagon and all other models.

Monroe lists the same rear shock on the wagon for 2000 - 2007.

It is different for both. You can tell by looking at pictures of the suspension that the shocks are not the same.
