Custom RetroFit HIDs

What do you guys think about these? What are peoples thoughts on retro fitting? I honestly love the look of the headlights in the video and would love to get my hands on a pair.

I like them but they still don't fix the largest flaw of first gen Focus headlights. The signals still would need to be on the grill. If you could also get the signals in the headlights, those would look great.

Well I messaged them with a few questions and also asked for a quote. Its around $400 with shipping. They said it is completely custom so I would say there is a 99% chance you could easily have them add some turn signals. Once I get enough dough im going to look for into this because I really want a pair of these!

I have some headlights im planning on putting my MORIMOTO headlights in.. im just trying to figure out the wiring.. if i took lots of pics.. would someone be able to help me figure out how to separate some wiring.. I talked a little while with the company that I bought my headlights from... they didnt give me much in the way of help.. other than.. separate the high beams from the low beam wiring.. you'll wire your hid lowbeam individually and then your high beams would be wired separately and then all the other features on the headlight wired separately..

I got these

http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/2...-p-114882.html

in the projector housing im going to put the Morimoto bulbs... then theres still a bulb in the second side thats h1 as well for the high beam.. thats just a normal bulb trying to figure out how to get everything to work. my head is spinning lol

They also have the turnsignal in the housing. I'm planning to get a Switchback White/amber bulbs for them :)

That's not a bad price at all. Go for it.

See if this helps. It's for wiring Mach headlights but the basics are the same and should get you pointed in the right direction. You can skip the stuff about the VW plug; I'm guessing you already have the plug for your lights.

Nice read, but i still dont see what this does... Do I have to get a VW plug?

Theres a plug on the aftermarket lenses.. but i'd have to wire in the Morimoto and the high beams somehow

The aftermarket headlight i have has a focus stock plug to plug the car harness into...

The HID on lowbeam would be wired to its balast etc.. catch my drift?

I've uploaded some pics to imageshack to see what I'm working with:

I was looking at these on IJDM to put into the aftermarket headlights for the Turn signals......thus allowing me to delete the signals on the grill, which makes my Eurogrill mod so much easier :) :

http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Switchback-...1157_sku40.htm

or

http://store.ijdmtoy.com/BAY14d-2357...157_sku_3e.htm

maybe getting these? to change the harness?

http://store.ijdmtoy.com/1157-LED-Hy...s-p/aa1051.htm

or

http://store.ijdmtoy.com/1156-LED-Hy...s-p/aa1050.htm

Now a question about the Aftermarket housing i have...

I have this specific aftermarket headlight:

http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/2...-p-114882.html

I was told to look at :
http://forums.focaljet.com/threads/6...ht=Mach+wiring (this is a better version of the link below)

for a guide to wiring....
and also at

http://ofoc.ca/hid/step01.html These whole steps

On the aftermarket plug.. you got a black and a blue wire, which goes into the halogen projector H1 bulb.... and you got a black and a red wire thats comes off the plug and runs into the plug.

This much i understand.. the aftermarket headlight's directions for wiring the Halos and LED's says:

1. Connect the Black Wire from Figure 2 to the Ground wire (-) if the driving lights
2. Connect the White Wire from Figure 2 to the Positive wire of the driving lights
3. You can also connect the black wire from the halo's and the LED wires in figure 2 together on the ground wire (-) of the driving lights. Connect the White Wire from the Halos and the LED wires in figure 2 on the positive wire of the driving lights

=======================================================================================

If I need to.. I dont mind doing some hacking on the wiring harnesses on the Headlight.. but I really dont understand.. lol I was told to ignore the VW harness info. I'm good with wiring, but i sense to be getting confused information. This may be helpful in that instance with mach headlights.. but am I dealing with a slightly different animal here,, this sorta rendering this guide somewhat useless?

I have the morimoto 3Five 35W that would be put into the projector on the outerside.. then inner has a bulb as well for High beams....

I've been tooling around on the forums in focusfanatics and focaljet, but I really havent gotten any solid answers.

I absolutely don't want to go and end up having these installed professionally, because one.. the place I checked at quoted me $50 an hour labor.. and he was thinking at least an all day project... so.. at least a good $400+ on labor... I know what i'm doing when it comes to things like this, but this is really the first time ive done anything major on Ford.. my last veh. was a '99 bmw 323i and things were MUCH easier to do aftermarket stuff on..

Ford has been a PITA so far...

If someone could just look at what I got and point me in the right direction so I can do it myself ..it would be a godsend :D because right now I feel like im going in blind.. no instructions at all on how to do this ....the morimoto hid came with no instructions and just a rather basic description about install on theretrofitsource's website, where I bought them from.. Tried emailing twice about them and haven't received a response about this matter. Need to find a way to hack the HID's into a harness of some kind off the balasts or something ..while retaining full functionality of my Low (morimoto HID)/Highs (spec d stock H1 halogen bulb) as well as everything else on there.

Do I need these:

http://www.tousleyfordparts.com/part...&siteid=214771

to help along the project?

I understand this is a lot to ask, but any help would be greatly appreciated, because as of yet.. I have found or received little or no information from the Headlight company . I'm going to try to call Spec D Tuning and see if they can offer me any advice, but I have a feeling they may just say figure it out yourself.. Which obviously sucks lol !

First off, sorry the link I provided wasn't of more help to you.

Now for wiring in your headlights. From the picture, it looks like the plugs are already prewired to work for your car. Have you tried simply plugging them into the existing headlight plug on your car and seeing if they work?

To wire in your signals, simply wire them directly to the grill turn signals. You will need the resisters, however, if you use LED bulbs for the turn signals.

You just plug the stock Focus harness into the plug on your headlights and then the headlights separate the wires into the high-beam and low-beam wires.
