^ ooh I've been waiting for that video since they mentioned it was in the works many months ago

as you said - none of them really suck, so I guess it boils down to price and tread life for me... maybe aesthetics too, in terms of tread pattern

I heard the exact same reviews talking with people at the last divisional event.

Rivals are more forgiving and respond well to thrashing.
ZII's take a more precise and technically almost perfect driving style.
I personally had Re-11a's and echo tire racks review. While they're not the best in any one area, they are the perfect all around tire. I took them off and put continental all seasons on and the re11s are quieter and ride better than the all seasons.

The only person I know that run yokos went with them because they are the only ones that come in sizes to fit his crossfire.

Sent from my HTC One using FF Mobile.

Well I got my RE-11s in ... excited to test them out.

I am getting them mounted tomorrow and on Sunday is our local race day ... first day to test them out.

Get a bit of tweaking out of the way for FocusFest.

Looking forward to it.

I have been competing and daily driving on RE11's for years, prior to that I was on RE01R's and have taken home countless trophies from local SCCA events. This season Bstone dropped my tire size in the new RE11A so I dropped them, 205/45r16. With no other real option in that size and no real money to change wheels I bought the closest Overall Diameter in a top tier tire, the new Dunlop Z2 in the 225/45r16. Right away I hated them, they feel numb and unresponsive when compared to the Stones (RE11 not "A") and the 0.7" increase in O.D. really dropped the torque in my Zetec. Hated them so much I ran the old RE11's at the Peru National Match Tour and had the Z2's stacked in my grid spot but never switched to them. Won Trophy for Third of 7 in STF.

But after the tour I switched to the Z2 for local events, win lose or draw and never even thought about switching back to the RE11's, learn how to drive on the new tires, they are not the same in any way shape or form but they are indeed faster when you find the limit and keep it on edge, or so I think now. I now have 6 events on the Z2's with four First Place Finishes and two Second Place Finishes.

I still think the Z2 has a numb feel to it which makes it harder to gauge the steering angle initially but once you get it the grip is phenomenal, they love the heat and don't fall off even in a hot lap Super Shootout format. Tire Rack says they are faster but less forgiving that the BFG Rivals and that is what most competitors are on Nationally due to the contingency payouts. But my mind is set, I will be running the Dunlop Z2 in the 2013 SCCA National Championships. However there will be a set of RE11's in my grid spot with me just in case I need torque or crisper turn in.

My 0.02

Thanks. Yeah, I ran them last Sunday, I do like the grip and response I got. But it's definitely a switch in my driving style vs the RS3s are drove on all last year up till last month.

I got the 205/45s but I feel I should have found a tire no less than 215. Going from 225 to 205 has thrown me off a bit ... but that's what camber adjustment is for.

It started raining though ... and I have to say I am in love with the grip still in the rain. Now that's a big improvement over my old RS3s.

I have never done a Pro Tour, but I will in the future. I was signed up and ready to go to the Wilmington Ohio Tour but due to lack of funds I had to cancel (I would have been at the Wilmington Match Tour had it happened). Made the choice that the Championships in Lincoln is worth more to me than another shot at the Indiana Minis. So unless I win the lotto for which I would have to start playing, its about 7 more local events and the big show for me. Is that you I see prereg in RTF Sully?

You should do a Pro Solo. Its lots of fun. You should have skipped one of those match tours and added the Pro. It fills up fast for a reason. I was also signed up for the Wilmington champ tour but I leave for Kansas City the weekend after and I'm sure my GF would appreciate it if I didn't go to an autocross.

Yeah... RTF is just a place holder. I haven't received the word if my FMod ride is going to come through or not. Absolute worst case, I'll run my car but I really don't want to.
