99 civic 1.6 faster

My girlfriend complains that my focus spi is much slower than her 99 civic with a tiny 1.6 L sohc I don't understand why she has so much more power... Neither engine has any mods. I mean whatever, I got sick of it and bought an SVT.

You have an SPI with an AT, and you wonder why you don't have any power. Well for starters, it only had 110hp to begin with in top running condition. Then stick it behind a hydraulic torque converter AT that sucks up like 20 more hp than a manual going to the wheels.

The SVT should be completely different.

Well. The civic is also an automatic..... It's amazing how small everything is under the hood. The battery is half the size, the exhaust is smaller, intake is smaller must be gearing, at least the focus handles nicer

according to edmunds, the 1.6 in the 99 civic was rated at 106 HP. So not that different HP wise, despite the different displacement.

Plus, the old civic is probably also lighter than your old focus.

Displacement is not everything...

Hope you enjoy the new SVT.
