but to try and answer the questions/confusion you all have:

The car is already registered in MD to me and my relative as co-owners. My name shows up first on the registration. Once I pay my relative back I will get full ownership (my car!), but that is irrelevant. He lives in MD. I actually live in VA. There were multiple reasons we got the car MD registered... according to my relative, MD does not charge property tax (VA does - 4.25%). I can't remember the other reasons why he said its better to register in MD.
But paying $1k less in taxes per year is pretty worth it... plus MD allows more tint and mods :)

I don't have any personal experience registering vehicles in those states, but I don't see where it would be a problem.
