K&N oil on a Green Filter USA???
G'day Gents, new to the forum here as I just purchased a 2013 Black Titanium Sedan....first ford ever.
What are your thoughts.... I just purchased a Green Filter USA. It requires an oil spray like K&N, and since I run K&N filters in my 2 motorcycles and other car, would it be acceptable to use the K&N oil spray as i have tons of it at home or should I go out and buy the Green Filter USA oil.... |

Watch the videos:
http://www.knfilters.com/video/KN_Ai...r_cleaning.htm https://www.greenfilterusa.com/filte...aintenance.php The cleaning kits are about the same price. Looks like the Green Filter video tells you to use a lot less oil than the K&N. It also mentions the Green Filter oil is synthetic. Somebody here had a K&N kit, I looked and it does not say what the oil is. I do not think the cleaner makes any difference, I have used Simple Green on another K&N. Probably does not make any difference but I $12 or $13 bucks I would buy the Green Filter kit when time comes. |

Funny I do the exact opposite on my 4 holden commodore.
I bought a special intake kit for it that came with a Green filter - so I bought there cleaning kit. However my Holden came with a K&N Filter in the air box. Since the intake kit didn't fit that well - I sold it off. but kept the Green Cleaner and oil kit. And I use their stuff on my K&N panel filter. I will tell you there cleaner works better. Also their green dye oil (that I think is actually the same as the K&N oil) makes covering the filter easier. Since its darker you don't use as much because you can see it in the guaze. also their oil supposedly doesn't bother MAF sensors - not sure about that but whatever. having used both - I know full well it doesn't damage the gauze. so I will keep using the green kits. But I would also suspect the exact opposite it true too. I find the Green stuff is a touch cheaper for more cleaner and oil. but either way. Good Luck.
