I got up to 453 with 1 MTE. Filled the tank with 12.25 gallons. I guess I was running a bit low huh?

I'll have to check next time I fill up. but I often get 450+ miles/tank. Right now I have driven 100 and it says 375 MTE. 500 would be amazing, but incredibly hard for me to do.
I am very impressed with the mileage I get on this car. One of my deciding factors was a 450mile hwy range, and it delivers. Some other vehicles I was considering had similar or better mileage, but the tank was too small to give me my 450. My last vehicle was an 05 Prius and it usually gave me 450-480 range with only about 1.5 gallon less than the focus. I don't miss it at all.

I don't know how you guys are doing it cause when I fill up my car, the highest MTE has been 323. My car has about 3700 miles now so it should be broken in. Just this Saturday I learned not to trust the MTE completely since I tan out of gas when the MTE was displaying 5.

How you drive impacts the MPG HUGE. I went from showing 26-30 to showing 29-31 just by being more gradual with my take-offs and braking maneuvers. It's all about finesse!

Also, my MPG readout has been fairly accurate, and I haven't bothered testing DTE cause I don't ever let my car get that low! When the light comes on I know I have to get a tank in the next drive or two.

For the last 2 tanks of gas I have been making it a point to take off very slowly increasing speed slow and smooth. Have felt like and old person driving since everyone passes me at take off. Even still my best MPG has been 26.7 though I'm guessing the 110 degree heat has been affecting MPG's. The weather has finally cooled off into the 80's here in Houston, so we'll see if that makes any difference.

I have got in the 480 range DTE for the past few fillups. I averaged 41.0 MPG hand calculated on my last tank.

If Ford would have gone ahead with a 13 gallon tank, 500 would be a lot easier! Seriously, I do wish they would have done that for the extra range.
