side mirror replacement
Somebody busted up my drivers side side view mirror. I am going to buy one, does anyone have detailed instructions on hot to remove the old one and put on the new one. It is a 2000 and its a manual mirror, not electric.

There are a few clips holding the mirror in place, you might half to take the inner portion of the side mirror and pry it out in order to get a hold of them clips. Although I haven't done this myself an auto body showed me how to do it. They said it would take like 10-15 minutes to get everything into shape.

Take off the triangle, just pops off, then locate the 10mm bolt and use a socket, with a long extension to reach it, unscrew and it comes off, but you need to again pop it off.
The mirrors should be plug and play, if powered. Dunno about manual. Good luck. |

"take off the triangle"
This triangle is on the INSIDE. it is also known at the sail panel. where the mirror adjustment knob or dongle is.

You forgot one step CKA, there is a torque screw that also holds the mirror on, its on the inside of the door behind the "triangle", dont break that off otherwise your mirror will fit loose and vibrate when you drive.

oh ya i forgot that one too.
just a technicality though... its not a "torque" screw.... it is a "torx" screw. T25 I think.

Like a Dummy I dropped the bolt inside the door steel. I need to retrieve it, so should i go thru the speaker hole with a magnet stick or peel up the weather strip at the bottom?

Wow , thats a hell of a bump . I think you can get into there by removing the door card. Its not too hard / time consuming
