Cup Holders

I hate these cup holders. The rubber tab is huge. I put a Styrofoam cup in there last night and the holder punctured a hole into the cup while driving home. I was very annoyed. What annoyed me even more, is that by the time I was able to get some paper towels, the liquid had drained into an abyss of some sort. I looked all around the seats, and saw no leaking anywhere. I am going crazy right now.

Since 2013 they have been using those rubber knives in the cup holders. I like them, because the 2012's didn't have them and smaller drinks went all over the place. It's kind of a compromise. I just never buy a fountain drink that comes in a foam cup. But if I happen to get one, it helps if you twist the cup out while you remove it. Some people have cut them off, if that's your cup of tea.

i think we have to cut our razor blades of holders off to use that. no way that would go in there with the razors in.

Never have a problem with the cup holders in my 2012. The cup holders are 2 different sizes besides .... one is slightly smaller than the other.

I had a couple large Timmy's paper cups a week or so ago
Thought I was going to pop the lid off trying to get it back out
Even a water bottle seems to hang up in there

Seriously...I am amazed that some engineer at Ford kept his job with these. How @#$#@ hard is it to design a cup holder?

This cup holder is from the European version, and it fits right into my American Focus, no cutting needed

Your focus doesn't have the little rubber tabs that he is talking about. Yours run parallel with your ebrake and the one he has that has the tabs runs parallel with the front of the center console lid. It's right up against it, what you have doesn't look like it'd fit in ours

True story, I have a Ti and the tabs are parallel with the console lid. I wonder if they did it different for the 2014?
