Blind Spot Mirror replacement 2012 SE

Hello,

I have joined the forum to get some help on an issue i am having with my fiance's 2012 focus SE. She was backing out out the garage the other morning and KOed here passenger side mirror. Ironically enought it crack her "blind spot mirror" haha. I have found them for around $45 on ebay, my question is has anybody actually replaced one. Her mirror are heated if that helps. I have tried the search function....i am a member of a forum for my truck and my car so i know the ropes...Thanks in advance...here is a pic of her beautiful tuxedo black 2012 (only one i had on my phone). Also her passenger fog has been knocked out by a rock on the highway im guessing. thats a whole different project. Focussing on the mirror for now.

I just had the sslapped out of my drivers side mirror housing while driving on the interstate. The glass flew out of the housing and I was doing 55 in a construction zone. Went back to find it but no dice, it was midnite. Housing is in perfect condition.

You can look up the part on make sure and have your VIN ready so you can input it and not get the wrong part. The exploded drawings of the mirror GLASS are hard to read and only have the GLASS side showing. There are at least a couple of mirror glasses - one is unheated, one is related to the "puddle lamp" on the bottom of the mirror housing. There are two very small wire terminals on the "back" of the glass that slip onto the heating wires. The 'blind spot' mirror is as you know about 1 1/2 inches by 2 inches. It is part of the glass assembly. zI DO NOT know if you can buy the blind spot mirror seperately. It is held in place (doesn't move) with a copper strut that sticks in to the back of the mirror glass assembly. The glass itself is about $85. The whole glass clips in with a big (3-4" diameter) circular clip assembly that you just PUSH the glass onto. MY glass part # from Ford for my 2012 Focus SE hatch(winter package) is 17K707.

Sorry to revive old post, but does anyone know how to remove and replace just the mirror part?

Are you talking about the mirror glass, or the whole mirror?

For the glass you can gently pull it off:

Just the glass, not the housing. When it says pull, do you actually pry it away from the housing or what? That post makes it sounds so easy.
