.... I just looked at this picture: http://www.partscheap.com/2012-2013-...550-aa-f12.htm
... and realized I did it wrong (assuming thats how it should look on the focus). I feel so stupid. I should have looked a the picture first... anyways I drilled the holes so that only that smooth part of the flap was showing, no the rougher looking material on inside. That means.... I have several holes in the area that should be showing.... crap.

well i'm gonna go remove them and figure out what to do. at least i have another extra set of 2 flaps for now...

somebody please tell me that picture is not accurate for mk3...

i mean you have to do all the measuremeants itself and the only guidline is to keep the clearance 6.5 inches otherwise youre on your own...

They're a universal design so do whatever you want.

after a lot of trial and error (I drilled about a dozen holes in each flap before I got it right)... success! and I think it looks pretty good considering! Tell me what you think.

thanks some guy. but cars are meant to get dirty on the outside

now I just need to figure out a way to do it on the rear wheelbase.
Yes, i've read ya'lls' posts about what to do:

So, looking at the rear wheelbase all you can see is the two bolts. I haven't tried anything with them yet because i'm still not postive as to what to do. I suppose I'll need to remove the bolts and see whats up, if anything usable is behind the felt.

Deeper in the rear wheel well on the felt cover is a small single hole. With the hard plastic splash guards, this is also used as a mounting point. A small metal clip is provided which snaps around this pre-drilled hole, and then a screw is inserted into the clip to hold the flap on. The other 2 screws you see are also used to mount the splash guards.

Just an FYI.

I still haven't tried yet, but maybe I could find an easier way of getting the flap on, perhaps only using 2 screws instead of all 3.
I just need to be really patient, careful, and precise in order to get them on there without drilling too many excess holes in the flap haha!

I decided I need help with this. The guys who did my tint said they can take a look at the rear flaps install. so did a friend of mine. but until someone looks at it that's the only update I have.

Again, this thread is in reference to the flat mud flaps.
