I've seen higher than this but finally decided to take a picture. I recently took a trip to Georgia and got more than 40 mpg on several tankfuls, calculated not just on the display.

Tried to share a pic but no go. I'll have to work on that. It says 422 miles to go.

Here we go, another mileage thread.. I've been on lots of auto forums over the years and when I see one of these pop up, I just smile.. There are invariably wild fluctuations in mileage posted, though most posts are in the range of average.

Correct (on the high side) tire pressure makes a big difference. Keeping the speed (engine rpms) down, anticipating stops, easy acceleration, etc. are some of the best things that can be done to ensure the best economy. A stiff tailwind, or headwind makes a huge difference in what can be achieved.

I recently saw 410.78 mpg. (projected to the full tank) on an 11.973 fill for a 390 mile trip. Just over 3000 miles on my 2013 hatch. Not quite the range and mileage of my 2005 Passat TDI, but not bad.

take care

Drove up to Bellingham, WA last month for leave... That's close to 1400 miles, filled up 4 times, and drove for a week before filling up again. Gotta love cruise control.

On the way back, in Oregon, we took highway 199 to get from I 5 to highway 101. That made me fill up 5 times, but damn was it worth it. Nothing but curves!
