motor miss/hesitation

After I changed the valve cover gasket on my 2001 ZTS, I decided to clean the mass air sensor and throttle body with a mass air cleaner. Now while driving it will sputter and miss, but will continue to drive normally. This will only happen occasionally. This car has no mods its a daily driver. What did I do wrong?

OK, I'll bite first. So, there was no miss prior to gasket change and cleaning? Guessing 'no' by the post....

I'd just double check to make sure you didn't knock any vaccum lines loose, off, or crack them.

Also, double check all plug wires to make sure they 'clicked' when you put them back on.

Make sure all intake tubing is on correct, orientation, and tight.

Mine had an intermittent miss for a long time. Then the coil just instantly gave up on #2. new coil, no miss. Not saying that's it, that just happened to me. Good luck.

Check and make sure have it going in the right direction. Check the wiring for a loose connection .
When you took it out and did the cleaning did you disconnect the negative battery cable? Anytime I'm messing with electrical components, that's the 1st thing I do. So when you get it back together let it idle normal or until the rpms drop. Then take it out for at least a 20 to 30 minute drive so your ECU can relearn the new parameters. And you should be good .
