Well the investment was well less than $30K. The car was only $20K. Needed the tires anyway so that I consider maintenance(28K on the stock rubber and one of the tires was going bad). All told about $2-3K for everything. I plan to sell the old rims to help offset some of the cost. The car handles like it is on rails. The ride isn't punishing at all. Stiffer, absolutely. As far as the exhaust, I'll have to take a video. You only have a little rumble at idle. Most noticeable when you get on the gas. Otherwise, when at highways speeds, it is not really any louder than the stock and no drone. I'm too old for that. It is a night and day difference after the upgrades over stock.

I wish I could have dynoed the car before and after. I was short on time and $$$. The car definately pulls harder than it did before. Gas mileage has improved, but that is only when you stay out of the gas. When a tune becomes available I will have a before and after done. I can't put a HP increase # on it though.

I believe with the CAI they say 6-8 HP. The exhaust is from Magnaflow. I did not see any #'s on their site. A dyno pull is the only way I would know exactly. I wish I could have one done in stock trim, then after the mods. Hopefully we will see a tune from SCT soon and then I will have dyno runs done.

So the gains would be nil essentially.
$2,500 for lowering springs, a new air filter, and shiny chrome exhaust. Intake = $280 Exhaust = $650 Springs = $270 RSB = $130 $1,330 total. Also, age is just a number. My dad's 50 and helped me out tons when I put my Steeda Intake, Magnaflow Exhaust, Steeda engine mount, and ST coilovers on my Fusion. No $1,000 install fees. I feel like you got took. |
