I knew very clearly all the details of what I wanted, and 99% of it was standard. So when the sales guy asked me what I'm looking for I merely said "A sunroof and a spoiler that does nothing. The rest is a bonus." This is coming from a lifetime driver of boring hand me down cars.

Working at a school there are many students, and in the winter time our parking lots become a joke. Combine the two and my beautiful smooth doors are no more as I've got a half dozen minor dents in the front and back. I look at this beauty and weep today. I'm quoting shops to fix those (hopefully) in a few weeks.

Big fan of the OEM wheels my guy set up. Really didn't expect something so sharp. I'm so pleased that new shoes are way down on my upgrade list.

I really haven't done much to it yet, and am sticking aesthetic at first mostly. Check my profile for a full breakdown of current status and plans.

It's been done before but that's why I found it. Engine Cover!

Arrived in the mail just so.

Came complete with the 1 black stud, 2 white studs and a single lock-nut.

Install is easy, although my studs really didn't want to go all the way down before feeling as though they were about to strip. The instructional video showed only hand tightening. Looks ok from the top...but I'll be taking a closer look tomorrow.

Sorry for the hedge shadow... here you can also see the Redline Tuning QuickLIFT Elites I grabbed last summer.

While the install is easy, it's pretty hard if you DROP THINGS on your very first go. This white thing is one of the studs I tried to place on the rear bolt. It bounced backwards many times and each time a swear went off in my head...

...before grabbing an old broom stick with a screw head poking out one end (DIY camp fire poker) which I slid down toward the plug and flicked it out of the under-carriage. After a few days of +0C weather I'll take it off to scrub off all the winter filth.

Bought from PartsCheap.com as suggested elsewhere on this forum.

Something that popped up in the Interior section of the forum got me excited months ago. I bought some custom A/C knobs from AliExpress and promptly set them aside as I was far too busy to bother. Currently on a week off from work I decided I should get to this so they can stop floating around my office.

These have been linked to in a couple of threads and prices vary, so go have a look if you like. They only come in 4 options I believe. Candy blue, red, black and silver... but not dark blue... wanting to keep my colours in line I opted to make use of some touch-up I'd required (within 3 weeks of ownership) to finish this off.

Please excuse my interior cleanliness, all of my cleaning supplies are frozen in the garage.

Painted 'em over Christmas and over a few days... here you can see the original colour with the beginnings...

These were my tools... sock and vice grips.

I calibrated the vice grips to just BARELY snug enough to tug on the knob, but not enough to indent them permanently with the teeth. A good tight grip is essential, so I clamp on loose and tightened down.

With the sock folded in half for extra layering and grip I wedged it into the grips using my finger to make a groove for the stock knob.

For the first two knobs I didn't squeeze down all the way to lock the pliers, being afraid of damage. This photo illustrates the not-quite-closed grip I used. However, on this final knob I actually clamped all the way down after slipping twice previously.

Once it's on tight, pull HARD and STRAIGHT backwards (not at an angle) away from the console. The facing may flex a big, don't worry, you have to pull harder than you might think is safe. It'll make a loud pop. Emphasis on pulling out straight.

Finished!

For the 5$ they cost I am more than pleased and I think it gives a much nicer finish to the interior. Day time pics don't do the night justice by any means. Way cooler at night and the inner ring between the bezel and the knob face shines the backlighting through just subtly enough to be perfect, although I can sort of see behind the middle one....after a week of driving I really don't care. Far left one blocks the control icons, but I know what those 5 positions do so ...

EDIT: After a couple of drives I check on it and it was too wiggly... I grabbed a ratchet and tightened the studs down. Perfect! There was a solidified protectant on the bolts.

Car looks great. Both the engine cover and AC knobs were very tasteful and improvement oriented mods. Great job. Can't wait to see more.

Thanks! I'm really put off by gaudy obnoxious looking (inside/outside) cars so tasteful is 100% where I want to stay. Going to do my best to not make it look too racey while still staying true to what I personally enjoy, which is racecars though haha because I've spent my life around them and now volunteer in motorsports pretty heavily. Still hemming and hawing between ST and DownforceUSA side skirts and whether to stick with a stock valance or use an option. More a performance upgrade in terms of my endorphins vs. horsepower. Since they are merely visual methinks it will come down to which I can get put on for the cheapest. Modding in Canada is essspensiiive.

More pics to come as Spring rolls out!

Knobs are a nice touch, different & rather upscale looking.

Wondered where my sock went to...
