Dumb question regarding side view mirros

My brother has a 2008 not sure the trim but it is a 4 door. The passenger side mirror is destroyed since he hit something. I ordered a generic mirror black with the chrome. It just dawned on me I ordered a heated mirror, if his car doesn't have heated mirrors will it still work. my worry was for some resaon or another it might have a different type of plug on heated vs non heated.

thanks in advance I dont own a focus but I'm a fellow Ford owner with a 03 stang!

Well I hope this helps since I have a 2004, but someone replaced the driver side on mine with a electric only mirror, when it should have had a electric and heated mirror and it worked just fine having the power only. My car side plug has 5 female pins on it, the electric only had 3 male pins, and the heated and electric mirror had 5 male pins. So they both plugged in just fine to the car side plug. You should be fine I would guess, there just may not be any wiring going to the plug for heat, but the pins are probably there.
