My Footwell and Trunk LEDs

I was bored and wanted a project to do, so I decided to hook up some LEDs in my foot wells as well as my trunk for better lighting. I spliced in blue 12 inch LED strips on both the driver and passenger side to the Dome light wire, so they turn on when the door opens or when shutting down the engine. The adhesive they came with wasn't sticking too well so I'm using mounting tape for now. Let me know what you think!
I also put some in the trunk for fun :) I wish night pictures but oh well. I also have a Pioneer AVH-X2500BT stereo installed if anyone is interested in pictures. Anyways I just wanted to share this :) If anyone has questions or comments I'm open to it!

JMHO LED's look better hidden. Have you looked around at what other people are doing for interior lighting?

Yeah, I've tried putting them in several different places. I originally wanted them in the piece above the pedals, but my problems were 1. I couldn't for the life of me get them to stick to the plastic and 2. The place I was trying ran right over the hood release, so opening my hood would destroy my mount. I then tried placing them on the front of the seats. That worked ok for a while, but eventually the wires pre-wired to the LED on the drivers side broke off from wear so I just gave up on the project for a while. Today I decided to fix the strip and re-soldered wires onto the strip and just stuck it right there shown in the picture. Cool story, I know :P. But anyways please let me know if you have suggestions for mounting!

To put hem under the steering wheel, you would hve to remove that panel, clean it really well and re-mount it with 3M double-sided tape, I like to use the outdoor version, cause that won't come off. Once that panel is off, you will see how the hood latch is attached, you can remove that, stick on your led's and when you put it back together, the wire won't be in the way., I personally like the look of OEM led's:

I'll definitely look into the outdoor tape. I'm learning, so thank you for the tips! This is the first mod I've ever done so those pictures definitely help for future endeavors :)

I've got mine tucked way up under my dash behind the pedals stuck to the carpet with Velcro. Sorry I don't have pics but I have 3 little circles of Velcro on each light strip.

Yeah I've considered velcro as well. Thanks for the tips. I think I like it the way it is for now though

Very tasteful this way, clean and out of the way gives you the perfect glow you want without seeing the led, good job

Love your trunk set up pyroinsa,

Double sided 3m tape is perfect of you use the one for exterior moldings.this is very sticky and should work.I might not stick if you armor all that area so lightly sand the tape mounting points to get a better grip
