Grinding Noise
Car just started making a grinding noise the last few days all the sudden.
Only happens when making right hand turns, and the noise is from the left from. Im leaning towards the wheel bearing, but was looking for some opinions. Ill be looking at it tomorrow. Whats the best way to check? Shaking the wheel and tire side to side for play? Or taking wheel off and seeing if there is play by moving the hub itself? and if its not the bearing where should i look next? car has 100k. control arms, ball joints, end links, tie rod ends, are all 2-3 months old. so its not those. |

Check the brakes, one of the clips could have come off, or it could be the bearing like you think, or even a cv shaft though I doubt its that. Also double check all the parts that were put on recently, who knows maybe a bolt is coming loose or something?

Oh and I just moved your thread to the General Technical chat area so you can get some more help with the problem since I doubt this is a SVT specific problem. Not saying you didn't post it in the right area just getting you more help is all

Brakes are good. Noise is ONLY when turning to the right. Again noise happens on left front when turning right.
I'm going to look after work today. If I take a right turn slow there is no noise. It doesn't seem to do it until enough of the cars weight is transferred to the drivers side during a right turn. The sound is more of a groaning that changes tone as the wheel is turning during the turn. |

Well found my noise. Rubbing the fender liner all the sudden. No idea why. Its attached like it should be. Maybe new push pins will solve it, if not I'll notch it so it never rubs.
