car alarm/door adjar switch

so i opend my car door after work door adjar light stays on the latch didnt wanna close so i duct tape my door shut and drove home and took tape off and the physical latch part works but dome light stays on and when i lock the car with the key fob i hit it twice the lights dont flash and the horn cherps twice instead of once so i believe its the the door adjar switch and if their is a way to adjust the sensor or if i have to replace it

Look at the part on the door jamb. The piece of rubber deteriorates over time and the switch behind it gets damaged. Probabaly moisture and/or dirt. You'll need a star bit to remove the hardware. When you take it out, you'll see the doorjamb switch. When my driver's side broke, I just switched it from the passenger side. Eventually, that one crapped out too. I just took the switches out. The only affect is no door ajar warning and if the headlights are left on, there is no warning chime.
