This is just my humble opinion and you can do whatever you want on your car, but I've never liked hood pins unless you actually need them. They break up the flow of the hood and look very tacky.

There are currently some FG/CF hoods Mk3 hoods being developed. They have Mk2 RS vents and provisions for AeroCatch hood latches. Prototypes are expected in the next 30 days or so.

These hoods, being lighter, may tend to flex more then the OE hood. The pins at the front corners will help cure that. For a stock hood, overkill. For FG/CF, necessity.

^^ This.

Plus I've heard enough horror stories of CF hood separating and the top part blowing off the hood so hood pins also may be a good idea for safety on non metal aftermarket hoods.

I don't really want them, I was just curious how they would look.

I wouldn't run hood pins on anything. If and, only if I need another form of securing a panel I would use Zeus fasteners.

Also, I have yet to have a problem with a carbon hood, glass hood, etc flying up on me at speed. Not even a crack around the latch or hinge area to this day.

Mmmmm On a eom hood? No...

I had a cf hood in my old M-Xrs. Fact hood was like 40 lbs, this one was 11bs and very thin. It would flex very bad and raise in the corners at +80mph, so pins were a must. Ill post pics later

I got a buddy with a CF hood on his RSX, it has a warning sticker on the underside that recommends the use of hood pins, as well as the stock latch. He uses both, but he got the lockable kind and I think they look pretty cool. Not for a stock hood though.

If he's still using the OEM latch, why bother with locking hood pins?
