Shoulda bought a duratec...

But seriously, after adding all available bolt-ons and any machine work you want to invest in, only disappointment will follow. You could theoretically create some monster of an engine with a narrow powerband, which isn't fun to drive on the street; or you could have built from a 2.3 duratec and had a helluva engine for relatively cheap.

If I go with the duratec do I need to change the harness? Will the 6 speed work with the duratec?

Not worth going to the Duratec

The mods that work best are
Drop in filter
TB
off road pipe or high flow cat
3 inch Exh
Tune , tune will prove to be the best mod and I feel I offer the best tune out there
Motocrafts plugs SP463
180 Deg thurmostat

Let me know if you have any questions

Tom

That's just it. You won't reach 200-240 N/A. You're starting from a nearly-already-rung-out Zetec making ~145 at the wheels.

I'm certainly not trying to discourage you, just saying your power goals are totally unrealistic. Keep in mind, an SVT focus at stockish power levels is still about the most fun you can have in its price range.

Eh, you can have your Probes. No thanks.

The only problem is that SVT and Cosworth already squeezed about as much as they could from the Zetec motor in making the SVT. The only way to make decent power gains is to go forced induction, which it takes to very well.

If your willing to spend the bucks you can go into the 180-190 range with a set of UK cams , full 3 inch Exh , Intake manifold and good tune
