Automatic Shifter Stick Knob Removal
Anyone know how to remove the stick knob? I have the chrome strip on mine and it's the only thing that is still chrome on my car and I hate it. I've tried searching, but found nothing.

don't know for sure, but as a general reference that are a couple ways they are put on. look near the base of the shift knob and if could have a trim ring that goes all the way around it. these are held on with pressure and enough pressure pushing down will pop them off. then there should be a clip ring or set screw under it holding the knob in place.
that's the most common design on newer vehicles. some others (like the 00-04 focus) are more simple and just have a set screw on the side of front of the shifter. an issue you may into is when reinstalling it. if i remember correctly the o/d button is on the shifter and could require taking more of the console apart to be able to plug it back in for reinstall. as before this is general reference and not 100% sure how these are set up.

I did not see a trim ring when I took apart the console, but I wasn't actively looking for one. Thanks for the info though, I'll look to do more research.
