Another divorce has been finalized.

Well... this Monday I trade-in the Focus for an Impreza Premium 5-spd hatchback. I've been watching the resale value of the Focus plummet even further over the last four months, so I figured I had better jump while I could still be slightly in the black.

There are things I loved about the Focus, but more things that just drove me bat-$hit crazy. We all know what they are: Rattles, clunks, DCT issues, and MFT issues.

Friday was the final straw, when I had to pull into some traffic and had the DCT bog down on me. I had done it before, but not that bad. The driver behind me had to hit his brakes pretty hard, and all I could do was wave an apology.

The Impreza is boring compared to the Focus, but it works. The Sony sound system in the Focus makes the Impreza system sound like a transistor radio, so that will be the first change I make. I will also REALLY miss hitting 39.6 MPG on the highway.

This is a fantastic forum. I can't find an Impreza forum as well laid out, or easy to navigate. You guys have been incredibly helpful over the last year, so I want to thank you for all of your information.

I'll have an engine cover and a full set of Husky liners for sale, so either check the For Sale section, or eBay.

Good luck to everyone. I believe that the 2015 Focus will be one hell of a car.

Excellent choice, enjoy your new ride! Sometimes the simpler things in life are better. My son is a Subie mechanic and he swears by them.

I own a '12 Impreza Sport Premium 5mt along with my '12 Ti HB 5mt. You are right about the stereo, it's gotta go. There is a secret setting on the stereo that makes it sound much better, at least until you upgrade.

PM me a price shipped for the engine cover AND the Husky's(OH 43832), and I'll tell you the Premium level stereo trick.

The Imp is a good car. Wife LOVES it! 28mpg is what we're getting, but she's only got 4k miles on it so far since August. 15.5k on the Focus since beginning of June.

I have the STI and the radio is cheap in mine too but that's part of how Subi keeps price competitive while offering AWD where others in the price range are 2wd.

I would say my Imp and my Ti are comparably equipped, except in the stereo department. I have the Kicker Sound Package in the Imp, and MFT but no Nav in the Ti. A simple HU change is all the Imp needs, the 6 speakers and Sub will do just fine when I put a Kenwood Nav driving them. I paid $20.5K for the Subie, $22.6K for the Ti. I could put alot of stereo in the Subie for $2K.

(Both are 5door, 5mt, cloth interior, heated seats, non-nav, top of the line factory sound systems)

LINK to a mini review I did on here

Not really questioning your decision since there's a lot of factors that go into car buying and selling, but why did you go with the DCT in the first place, then switch to a 5 speed Impreza..?

It looks like he got a pretty loaded out Focus before you could get a manual in the top Focus like my Ti. Those few months saddled him to the DCT.

Both of my cars had to be special ordered to get the 5mt. Ti took 13 weeks, Subie took 14weeks.

Why do I think you're going to say that the secret trick is the OFF button? Give me a couple of days and I'll PM you the prices. I have to find a box that the cargo liner will fit into.

The standard tranny was only available on the Titanium model when I purchased my SEL, and I didn't want a Titanium. It became available on other models about a month after I bought my car. Needless to say I was not amused.

It is not the OFF button. There are undocumented menus that control Loudness and preset EQ curves. You will be able to turn Loud off and set the EQ to flat (but still have Bass, Mid, and Treble controls), which really helps this car out.

I actually have the Husky cargo liner already, I was hoping you had the 4 liners for the cabin. If not, I still would like the engine cover.

Thx
