Just no where near the top five vehicles sold in the U.S.

Number 1 and 2 are both trucks, with the F-150 usually retaining the sales lead here, and the corolla and or civic finishing ahead of the Focus in the U.S.

Ford will sell about as many Focuses in the US as they do in Europe this year (250,000 or so), so it's really doing quite well.

It's still outsold by the Corolla and Civic here perhaps because reliability/durability is so important in this segment. So far, the Focus hasn't exactly distinguished itself on that score.

Simple, the Focus doesn't offer our dry DCT or MFT in many of these other markets. So it's reputation is less tarnished there.

They offer the same PowerShift DTC in Europe for the smaller petrol and engines and the wet clutch type for the higher torque diesel models.

Just scroll all the way down.
Ford dry clutch 6DCT250 is being used in North America. The wet clutch 6DCT450 is being used in Fords powertrains outside of North America. Wet clutch has more torque handling, esp. for the diesels in europe.
