The road was so slick that ABS cut most, if not all the brake force. There was absolutely no sensation of slowing down, and apparently I was able to maintain steering control which tells me the car was pretty much free-wheeling with the pedal buried. I don't remember feeling the pedal pulsate. There was just too much going on at the time for me to notice my foot was vibrating.

Glad you made it out of that situation safe. It's one thing driving in winter expecting ice and snow and quite another when it is not expected like in your instance. "Black ice" has caused a few explicatives to slip out of my lips over the years!

On a side note, I will be heading down to Rockwall tomorrow with my brother to pick up a car he bought on ebay. Do you think there will still be ice on the roads?

Man I'm glad you got through that ok. No tire is good on black ice but are you still running the stock summer Michelins?
