Sequoia Nat'l Park Road Trip

I took my new focus on it's first road trip with only 1,00 miles on it. I put another 1,000 on it in the week. For my impressions of how the car handled the trip, go here for that post: http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=321460

I just wanted to post some of my favorite photos here to share. Hopefully if you've never been to the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, this will make you want to go. It's definitely a must-see if you live in California. The largest trees on earth are in our state! Enjoy...

first overlook on way up mountains

that's camp fire grilling!

General Sherman. Largest tree on earth! Note the people at bottom, how small they look!

the people at bottom give good scale to this random giant sequoia

a lot of areas looked like this and reminded me of Endor from Star Wars. It's no wonder since I found out today that those scenes of Wookies and Ewoks were filmed in the Redwoods of California!

Just another giant random sequoia on side of road, that's me at the bottom

this is an old nat geo photo of the auto log in the next shot

can't drive on it anymore, but cool to visit

Moro Rock

1/4 mile, 300' of elevation, 400 steps, 7,000 feet altitude. worth it.

worth it

Moro Rock

two giant sequoias on High Sierra Trail

Overlooking the Great Western Divide

High Sierra Trail crosses the Sierras, it's 60 miles to Mt. Whitney

Log Meadow

Tharp's Log

Eating good

camp site sunset

love my new mug

some giant sequoias by the General Grant, made a little friend too

the focus parked next to some giant trees at a cabin I stayed at

Kings Canyon

"Rival to Yosemite" - John Muir

Good bye until next time Sequoias

Bravo Farms in Traver off the 99 is worth the stop!
