How to: Sparco Grip Pedals
I didn't like how I struggled to heel toe every time because the pedals were too thin/too far apart. I ordered some used Sparco Grip Pedals on ebay for 10 dollars and I've been happy ever since.
Parts Sparco Grip Pedals Nuts and Bolts Tools Drill Heat gun Basic hand tools These pedals are meant to be bolted directly onto the pedals, however I found that the metal arm behind the pedal pads were too obstructive. Therefore I did some modification to the original pedal covers, which are made of rubber. Note that only the break and clutch pedals have covers, the gas pedal is just plastic. I took the sparco grip pedal and bolted it to the factory pedal covers. I also put superglue around the bolt (about 2-3 cm around the bolt on all sides). The super glue prevents clockwise/counterclockwise rotation of the pedal. ![]() ![]() I then used a heat gun to warm up the rubber and slipped the cover back on to the pedals. Once they were on again, I shot more superglue in and tighten the bolts even more. (If they were too tight the original rubber cover would of changed shape and would not of been able to be slipped back on) For the gas pedal I simply bolted it on as there was more space. ![]() I've been driving with them for a month now. I haven't had any rotation or slipping issues. They are perfectly secure. Now I just need a dead pedal. |
