To answer this question on any car: there is also usually a noticeable "ABS unit" under the hood, where a bunch of brake lines Tee off from after the master cylinder. There will also be wires/connectors/sensors going to the wheel hubs. My Focus has the wires and connectors on the chassis at the rear, but they aren't plugged into anything since the car doesn't have ABS.

That's got to be the worst piece of advice I have seen in years. I have drums in the rear and I do have ABS brakes.

If your look at the back of your rear brake plate, you might see a wire going into it, if you have that then you should have ABS, otherwise the wires would just be tied up in the chassis like elsolo described.

My mom's '07 Focus also has ABS too.

Also if you go to this web page and put in your VIN you can pull up your window sticker. Just replace "YOURVIN#" with your real VIN in the address bar.

ah that's not right. The majority of foci came with abs. I do however have a model that does not. If ones with drums didn't have abs then why would there be threads and drums with and about the abs tone ring

To the OP next time you start your car look at the dash lights that come on before starting. If you have abs a dash light for the abs should come on and disappear. Or you could just look at the rear drums and see if there is a wire and a sensor on the back side or near the hub, that would indicate a abs sensor being there.
