Help with removing shift cables under center counsel
Ok, so I am about to install a STS and I know how to install it, but I need some advice on how to remove the shifter cables. How exactly do they pop off? Do I take off the black band around the white bushing or do I remove the whole bushing from the shifter? Thanks for your help

anyone? I'm thinking I have to take off the whole bushing by prying it off, but I don't want to break it in the process

Leave the old shifter connected to the base and pull the linkages off, then remove the four screws for the base. Don't forget to grease the moving parts & you're good to go. It's pretty straight forward.

Ok I understand that, but how exactly does the linkage dislodge from the bushings? I'm probably overlooking it.
