All season tire suggestion

Just picked up my ST this afternoon, and living in Kansas i knew the summer tires weren't going to work. Possibly at some point i will have two sets of wheels/tires, but for now i'm going the all season route. Dealer said i could swap them with whatever tires and just pay/credit the difference. So i'm looking for suggestions. Bridgestone pole position, Continental ExtremeContac, something else? Help me out here.

I believe the correct answer would be a second set of rims and tires. Downsize to a smaller size and beat the snow. Also by getting a second set of rims you save wear and tear on your expensive ST rims. Go to tirerack.com and poke around a bit or give them a call tomorrow to speak with one of their techs. Last thing, be prepared for a dash light to be on if you don't want to spring for an extra set TPMS sensors. No harm will be done but it's government interference at it's best.

I have the Conti Extreme Contact and so far so good and the dry grip is quite surprising for an all-season and solid wet weather manners too. Can't say much about snow traction since the Focus hasn't seen any yet.

The rim protector works well too as I found out when i had to dodge a driver and tagged a curb and no damage resulted.

I can vouch for the conti-extreme contacts. I put a set on my wife's Mazda 3. The best contacts to get are the ones I got. The DWS. Dry, wet, snow.

Gerryyy is right, depending on what your "winter" is like. For the interim, I agree with Ron and misfire. The DWS are excellent all around tires, wet weather performance is outstanding! My only "complaint" is they aren't particularly long lived.
I currently have 17" Cooper Zeon RS3-A on my SVT, and have been very happy with their overall performance. That said, my 16" Michelin x-ice xi2s are going on tomorrow.

The DWS at least does have a 50k mile treadwear warranty but I'm still hoping to see alot of miles from them.

A lot of folks swear by the DWS's, but I got some yokohama YK580's and have been pretty thoroughly pleased with them. Living near seattle, I can definitely vouch for their performance in the Rain. Snow, though... Not so sure yet, as I haven't encountered any this year.

Probably go with the DWS's. Had them on an old acura tl and i thought they did well. Thanks for the input. One day i will get serious and buy a set of winter wheels/tires, but for now some all seasons will suffice. just driving around today in the 30 degree weather the goodyears just cant grip the cold pavement.

I am still running the stock Contis, but will be upgrading to DWS when I can. I had Goodyear Eagles on my old car and had some harrowing moments in the snow...pretty sure I gripped the steering wheel so hard that I left permanent impressions of my hands.
