2012 SE Suspension Upgrades

Hey all,

I originally posted this over in the autox section but didn't get much of a response so I figured I would post it here in hopes that more people would see it.


I'm looking into lowering my car, the only thing is I do plan on doing some autox with it so I want to make sure I lower it right.

Anyways what do you guys think the best bang for my buck setup would be?

I was thinking some combination of front and rear sway bars plus coilovers. Yet, I wouldn't be opposed to going the springs plus dampers route instead of coils.

Also I was looking at the different coilover options and was wondering if I would be okay doing one of these.

H&R Coil-over

ST Coil-over

I'd rather go with the STs as they are cheaper, that is unless the H&Rs are substantially better.

Nothing yet, but I'm about 90% decided on the st coilovers. But I'll also being checking out the FRPP suspension package when someone else gets its. As of right now though I'm going to wait till the end of the winter to do anything.

Hey Benji, does your car have the clunking problem that alot of us are having? Cause ive been wondering if its due to the strut design, and If coilovers would solve that problem.

I would probably try and lean you towards the ST setup. I've seen more then one person go with the H&R Coil-over and have problems using stock wheels because the offset was to high. You don't get quite as much drop (1.8" f/r compared to 2.3") but you can always adjust it to run at stock height if you ever wanted to take a long road trip or drive the car in the winter and get more clearance.

No I haven't yet, but I have less than 4,000 miles on my car currently.
