TSB 13-6-10 Bang heard when upshifting 2013 Focus ST

Looks like a new motor mount (CM5Z-6068-A), among other things: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/pubs/content/~WT/~MUS~LEN/3552/tsb13-06-10.pdf

Perform the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

(revised clutch hydraulic line, revised motor mount, reinforced battery tray, etc...)

LMAO I think that is the Electric Motor Mount guys have been swapping out on their STs and 5 speed mtxs...... It took modders to figure that one out before Ford engineers.

Damn it is ... same part number I checked with Tousley Ford. Still LMAO.

This should be applied to all MTX

This TSB was already posted in the Focus ST performance section: http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...30#post4771130

It's not just the E-focus rear motor mount that's being swapped but all three engine mounts as well as a clutch slave line, so it's a lot more in depth than what others have been doing, some have changed the rear roll restrictor, and some have changed the passenger side motor mount or both, but not the transmission mount.

Currently the transmission mounts are not available.

It does not apply to the other MTX models because the engine mount is different on the ST, it uses three studs on the engine block vs the two on the N/A and therefore is specific to the Focus ST.

But it is still the Efocus rear motor Mount which should have been used to begin with and should be in the MTX 5 speed as well.

If you want to pester Ford about it go ahead, although the current TSB is very specific to the ST only because only the ST uses this specific clutch line, transmission mount and passenger side engine mount that are to be replaced by the TSB.

They won't do just part of a TSB for a car that it doesn't apply to as they won't get reimbursed by Ford for the service.

It has not been deemed a concern on the n/a models yet according to Ford because people instead of complaining to Ford have taken matters into their own hands and replaced the rear roll restrictor which helps a little bit, but not nearly as much as replacing all three mounts should.

If enough people made it a concern perhaps Ford would repair it on the n/a models.

The rear motor mount needing to be replaced applied to every single MK3 Focus even the DCT though as it improved things with the MS3 mount, although it still clanged/ hopped sometimes even with the stiffer mount.

That's crazy! I experienced the same exact thing with my old 2007 Focus with the 5 speed. I assumed it was the engine mounts but the dealership never said anything after numerous inspections. Sometimes under hard acceleration, I would get a sort set of loud continuous thumps. From the information I had an using the vin, my vehicle didn't have traction control...but now I experience the same thumps behavior with my 2012 w/ DCT if I floor it from a stand still (and the light flashes...which my 2007 didn't do...). So somehow my old one DID have traction control, but would then make a strange whining noise matching the engine RPMs and would go away after parking the car for a few minutes.

It's basically the same as TSB 13-6-10, but altered to include a production fix date that included some of the 2014 Production, and a change for the 2014 MY that they don't have to open the clutch hydraulics on a 2014 Focus ST built before 8/27/13 as they get to skip changing the hydraulic line.
